Dear Friends of JTVF,
Thank you for your remarkable dedication to our shared mission of helping our low-income neighbors meet their needs—one family at a time. I have spent much of my life devoted to causes that inspire me and serve to unlock human potential within us all. I am elated that this adventure has led me to the John T. Vucurevich Foundation. With over 20 years in community and economic development—spanning roles from volunteer to executive in myriad sectors—I am eager to collaborate with those leading the charge to make our piece of the world a brighter place, just as John envisioned.
JTVF was formally established in 2007 and has been a force for good ever since. Recently, we have underwent significant transitions as new and exciting opportunities arose for Alan Solano, Jess Gromer, and Callie Tysdal at the close of 2024. As they enter new leadership roles in healthcare, consulting, and energy, we thank them for their many transformative contributions and mark the beginning of a new chapter at JTVF—one firmly grounded in our core values of strategic philanthropy, community engagement, and sharing what we learn.
In 2025, JTVF will award over $8 million to nonprofits working in the Rapid City area, bringing our grantmaking to date to $120+ million. These funds will continue to empower incredible organizations working to change the lives of children and families who need our community’s support now more than ever. Jessica, Shelly and I are excited to begin the process of hiring new team members to support this tremendous effort later this spring.
As we invest in opportunities for early learners, affordable housing, economic mobility, and innovative solutions to address our community’s real basic needs, we welcome your collaboration, feedback, introductions, and invitations to learn. These partnerships are the core to excellence in our grantmaking and community relationships.
As we shape our priorities for the future, I hold close this anonymous note that I was handed at a community meeting several years ago: “My prayer for us is that we are given, and generate, and regenerate deep hope, co-agency, and faith.”
I am grateful and humble to be invited on this mission. Hope is our compass, and our bias for action is our fuel. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me— I love taking creek-side walking meetings in our neighborhood or getting a cup of coffee.
En Avant,
Jacqui
